Role Overview

SiFi is hiring an AI Engineer for its Data & AI team to help embed AI-driven automation into corporate finance workflows. The role spans the full product and technical stack, including LLM pipelines, agent-based workflows, backend systems, and the internal tools needed to make these capabilities reliable in production.

This is a practical, end-to-end engineering role. You will take projects from early prototypes through production deployment in a domain where financial information is structured, sensitive, and unforgiving. Accuracy matters because errors can have real business consequences. You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Finance, and Operations to deliver AI features that directly improve how hundreds of companies manage money.

Key Responsibilities

• Build AI-powered features from concept to launch, covering prompt design, model integration, backend APIs, and user-facing interfaces.
• Create and support the AI stack used for LLM inference, retrieval-augmented generation, and extracting structured data from financial documents.
• Develop autonomous agent flows that help automate finance tasks such as expense classification, receipt matching, and policy checks.
• Work with the Data Engineering team to ensure AI systems are powered by accurate, trusted, and well-structured financial data.
• Design internal tools and evaluation systems to track, assess, and continuously improve model quality in production.
• Keep up with advances in the field and apply useful approaches such as fine-tuning, tool use, and multi-agent orchestration where they add measurable value.

Requirements

• Solid engineering knowledge across backend development, APIs, and cloud infrastructure, with confidence owning an AI feature through its full production lifecycle.
• Practical production experience with large language models, including prompt engineering, RAG, structured extraction, or agentic workflows.
• Comfort working with financial or compliance-sensitive data where accuracy, traceability, and auditability are essential.
• A strong bias for action, with the ability to move quickly, make sensible trade-offs, and refine solutions using real-world feedback.
• Low-ego, high-ownership mindset: equally willing to debug edge cases or contribute to higher-level system design.
• Familiarity with fintech or expense management is a plus.
• Experience in an early-stage startup or a small, fast-moving team is a plus.
