About HappyCo

HappyCo was established in 2011 and develops mobile and cloud-based products that help teams access real-time property data. Its main product family, Happy Property, supports more than 5 million units. The company is focused on improving everyday life for others and serves the multifamily property management space by helping customers strengthen operations and improve resident experiences.

HappyCo emphasizes a values-led environment with a supportive, flexible culture and aims to be a place where people can grow their careers without office politics or ego. The company describes itself as an inclusive workplace that values respect, growth, and collaboration.

About the Role

HappyCo’s Brand Design team is a compact specialist group that supports campaigns, the website, events, sales narratives, and motion work. The team partners closely with Marketing and serves the wider business with an in-house studio mindset, taking full responsibility for quality and output.

The ideal Brand Designer combines strong visual craft with the ability to independently carry projects from idea to launch. This role suits someone who enjoys building, shaping, and finishing work on their own while bringing a distinct creative perspective. Experience in brand design, web, and motion is especially relevant, and designers from agency backgrounds who want broader ownership are encouraged.

AI is part of the team’s workflow, so the role calls for someone who already has practical experience using AI tools, along with a thoughtful, curious approach to how those tools can improve creative output.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop brand and campaign creative for digital, print, social, events, and motion, handling each project from concept through final delivery while maintaining quality throughout.
  • Create and ship web design work, including delivery through no-code or low-code tools, AI-assisted development, or direct collaboration in a front-end environment.
  • Support motion and video efforts such as brand animation, product storytelling, event visuals, and animated identity systems.
  • Design templates, component sets, and self-service resources that help non-designers produce polished work independently.
  • Shape and improve AI-supported brand workflows that connect brand systems to the tools and channels used by Marketing, Sales, and the broader company.
  • Review channels and internal materials for brand inconsistencies and fix gaps across self-serve assets.
  • Develop brand guidance that explains the reasoning behind decisions, helping others make strong choices in situations not explicitly covered by the rules.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Product as an early creative partner, bringing brand thinking into briefs from the start.
  • Track the performance of your work, learn from results, and refine future output based on what proves effective or ineffective.

What You Need to Succeed

  • 3 to 6 years of brand design experience, supported by a portfolio showing range, quality, and a clear point of view through real shipped work.
  • Solid command of typography, layout, color, and composition, or strong motion fundamentals if that is your main specialization.
  • Agency experience, along with a desire for more complete ownership than traditional client-service work usually provides.
  • Background in motion design, brand animation, or product storytelling.
  • Practical no-code or low-code build experience, particularly in brand or marketing settings.
  • Experience creating enablement assets such as templates, guides, or self-serve tools that non-designers actually adopt.
  • Hands-on use of AI build tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Figma Make to produce actual work, not just test the interface.
  • A grounded view of AI in creative work, including where it adds value, where it falls short, and how to balance both sides.
  • A strong sense of ownership, with a habit of following work through to completion rather than defaulting to handoff.

Strongly Valued Experience

  • Practical use of AI build tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Loveable, or Figma Make to deliver real outputs.
  • Clear front-end web capability, including taking design work live through no-code, low-code, or AI-assisted tools.
  • Comfort working across time zones with teammates in Australia and North America.
  • Brand or campaign design experience in a SaaS or B2B technology environment.

What HappyCo Values in This Role

  • Genuine craft and creative conviction in every piece of work.
  • A mindset focused on scalable systems rather than only solving the immediate brief.
  • A willingness to support others through tools and processes instead of one-off service alone.
  • Active and critical use of AI to extend capability without replacing judgment.
  • A habit of measuring results and using those learnings to improve future work.
  • Comfort in a small, high-trust team where the scope is broad and personal ownership matters.

Benefits and Culture

  • Flexible work-anywhere support within a company culture built around adaptability.
  • The chance to join a fast-growing technology company in the PropTech sector.
  • Unlimited vacation time.
  • Generous paid parental leave.
  • Competitive and equitable compensation.
  • Monthly stipends for wellness and home office expenses.

Equal Opportunity and Hiring Notes

HappyCo is committed to an inclusive and equitable workplace where people of all backgrounds are respected and supported. Applicants are welcome regardless of educational background, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, age, citizenship, socioeconomic status, disability, or veteran status. Reasonable accommodations are available for qualified individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans during the application process.

The company also notes that recruitment agencies should not submit unsolicited resumes or contact the team regarding open roles, as unsolicited agency submissions are not accepted and no related fees will be paid.

HappyCo may use AI tools in parts of the hiring process, including application review, resume analysis, response assessment, and inconsistency checks. These tools assist recruiters but do not replace human judgment, and final hiring decisions are made by people. Applicants may contact the company for more information about how data is processed.
