Role overview
This opportunity is with a lending-focused financial services business looking for a Business Development Manager to support its next stage of growth. The role is centred on developing activity within your postcode territory by identifying new prospects, working existing accounts, and expanding the loan book while improving your own earnings.
The position is remote, but you must be based in or near the Hereford, Worcester, or Gloucester area. It suits someone with prior business development experience in financial services, or in a closely related sector, who is confident managing a self-sourced sales pipeline and building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
What the role involves
- Generating your own leads and building a strong pipeline of potential lending opportunities.
- Arranging and running sales meetings with prospective clients each week.
- Developing new relationships while also nurturing existing ones, including introducers such as brokers and accountants.
- Responding promptly and professionally to enquiries.
- Providing a high standard of service to clients, prospects, and internal and external stakeholders.
- Keeping the pipeline organised, following up on open queries, and handling account management activity where needed.
Experience and skills needed
The ideal candidate will bring experience from a business development position, preferably within financial services or a comparable sector. You should be comfortable creating your own opportunities, booking your own meetings, and winning new business in a B2B setting. Strong written and verbal communication, good numeracy, and a clear drive to hit and exceed targets are all important.

- Annual salary of up to £46,000.
