Role overview
The CDL Driver role is focused on safely transporting materials to job sites using the most efficient route possible. This position requires strict adherence to traffic regulations, safety standards, and company procedures. Drivers also support the loading and securing of materials on trucks, and they help unload products using equipment such as cranes, conveyors, piggybacks, or manual handling. In addition, drivers represent the company at the job site and may guide, direct, and oversee others as needed.
Key responsibilities
- Drive the assigned vehicle to job sites using safe and efficient routes.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety rules, and internal company policies.
- Assist with loading and securing materials before departure.
- Support unloading through crane, conveyor, piggyback equipment, or by hand.
- Act as the company’s representative on site and help coordinate work as required.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and keep the truck clean and orderly.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A or Class B license issued by the state, with a clean MVR and DOT record.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Current and valid Medical Certification Card is required.
- At least one year of consecutive CDL driving experience in the prior year.
- Strong attention to detail and good control while operating a vehicle.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in difficult weather conditions.
- Physical capability to bend, reach, lift, and climb.
- Willingness and ability to climb onto rooftops and stack materials properly, where applicable.
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 100 pounds for extended periods.
- Ability to climb a 40-foot ladder, where applicable.
- Must be able to pass the company’s drug screening and remain subject to random testing under company policy.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred background
- Prior experience handling materials is an advantage.
- Previous forklift operation experience is preferred.
- Crane operation certification is a plus.
