China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co., Ltd (Tanzania) is serving as a contractor on the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Project. This large-scale infrastructure effort is focused on building and operating an underground pipeline across borders to move crude oil for export to international markets. The line is 1,443 km long in total, with 1,147 km running through Tanzania and linking Hoima District in Uganda to the Chongoleani peninsula near Tanga. Role Summary

The Coating Inspector will oversee the correct application and quality control of protective coatings used during pipeline construction on the EACOP Project. The position requires checking coating materials, confirming that all work matches design requirements, and carrying out inspections during surface preparation and coating application. The role also includes recording inspection results and working closely with construction teams to resolve any quality issues. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in the United Arab Emirates.

Qualifications

• Hands-on knowledge of coating inspection, surface preparation, and quality control methods
• Experience using coating inspection instruments such as dry film thickness gauges and holiday detectors
• Good understanding of the industry standards used for pipeline coatings and corrosion protection
• Ability to review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and related documents
• Strong eye for detail along with solid analytical thinking
• Clear communication and teamwork skills for coordination with engineering and project management teams
• Professional certification in coating inspection, such as NACE, FROSIO, or a similar credential, is an added advantage
• Previous exposure to pipeline construction or other major infrastructure projects is preferred
• Comfort working at project sites and adapting to demanding field conditions
