Role Summary
This full-time, on-site role in Gold Coast is responsible for leading day-to-day construction activity on site. The Construction Manager will coordinate subcontractors, maintain schedules, track progress against plans, and ensure work remains compliant with safety requirements, quality expectations, and local building regulations. The position also involves spotting site issues early and resolving them proactively.
Key Duties
The role covers oversight of labour, materials, and site resources, along with reviewing drawings and specifications, carrying out regular inspections, and keeping project work aligned with the approved plan. The Construction Manager will also liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams, prepare progress updates, and support accurate project records and cost management.
Qualifications
- Hands-on background managing construction work on site, including supervising trades, subcontractors, and suppliers on a daily basis.
- Strong capability in planning, sequencing, and coordinating work across multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Good working knowledge of construction techniques, local building requirements, safety rules, and quality assurance practices.
- Ability to handle construction paperwork and records such as drawings, specifications, RFIs, variation/change orders, and progress documentation.
- Clear communication and people skills for working effectively with crews, customers, and external stakeholders.
- Proven problem-solving ability on site, with sound judgment and the confidence to escalate concerns when necessary.
- Exposure to construction management platforms or project management tools is an advantage.
- A relevant certification, trade background, or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a similar discipline is preferred.
- Strong commitment to safety, risk awareness, and ongoing process improvement.
- Must be available to work full time on site in Gold Coast and adapt to changing project needs.
