Custodian

Role Overview

The Custodian will support cleanliness, sanitation, and general upkeep across the facility and surrounding areas. This position involves routine janitorial work, restroom and breakroom upkeep, waste removal, floor care, and related cleaning tasks in a manufacturing or office environment.

Key Duties

• Maintain floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming as needed.
• Clean production and facility equipment, including machines, mixers, table racks, conveyors, dishes, and refrigerators.
• Dust office furnishings and wipe down desks and other surfaces.
• Keep bathrooms and breakrooms clean and sanitary.
• Refill supplies in bathrooms and breakrooms.
• Remove trash and recycling from all designated areas.
• Perform floor maintenance such as stripping, cleaning, buffing, applying sealer, and shampooing carpets.
• Make sure soap and paper towel dispensers remain stocked.
• Handle general cleanup, including debris and garbage removal throughout all departments, and assist with weekly cleanup tasks in paint areas.
• Collect litter from parking lots and the areas around the buildings.
• Use required personal protective equipment, including protection from hazards such as hexavalent chromium.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or GED is required. Prior custodial or janitorial experience is preferred.

Work Environment

This role may involve exposure to changing weather, confined spaces, and working at heights above two stories.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16 to $18 per hour. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, long-term disability, an Employee Assistance Program, a 401(k) plan with a 3% match, and holiday pay.
