Role overview
This position reports to the Manager, Business Intelligence and plays a data-enablement role within the Data Culture Office (DCO-BI). The focus is on helping teams make better decisions across Forecasting, Strategy, Marketing, and Sales by turning business questions into dependable datasets and analytical structures.
The role sits between business stakeholders and data engineering, with an emphasis on data modelling, metric definition, cataloguing, validation, and making data easy to reuse. Rather than producing isolated, one-off outputs, the work is geared toward building scalable data assets that support self-service analytics and trustworthy decision-making.
As a central contact for data-related queries, this person will help interpret data, clarify what stakeholders need, identify the right sources, and shape how information should be understood and used. The outputs may also feed downstream platforms such as eCommerce, CRM, and AI-based systems, so accuracy, consistency, and reliability are essential.
Key responsibilities and KPIs
- Develop structured, reusable datasets that support business decisions.
- Define measures, data structures, and analytical views across multiple domains and platforms.
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports that enable self-service analysis.
- Carry out focused ad-hoc analysis to test assumptions and guide scalable solutions.
- Work closely with Data Engineers to improve validation and overall data quality.
- Keep documentation, definitions, and data catalogues clear and up to date.
- Convert business needs into data requirements and analytical approaches.
- Help stakeholders understand and use datasets correctly, improving data literacy.
- Encourage reuse, consistency, and long-term maintainability of data assets.
- Support the identification of business decisions linked to datasets and KPIs.
- Make sure analytics outputs lead to practical business actions and measurable outcomes.
- Contribute to scenario analysis and other decision-support initiatives.
- Design data assets that can adapt to changing consumption needs, including AI-assisted analytics and downstream decision systems.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with large or complex datasets and preparing them for business use.
- Strong SQL skills for data exploration, testing, and validation.
- Good understanding of data modelling, metrics design, and reusable analytics structures.
- Experience with BI or reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Ability to turn business questions into clear data requirements.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Careful attention to data quality, consistency, and reliability.
- Well-organized, adaptable, and able to balance immediate and longer-term priorities.
- Understanding of how analytics supports business decision-making.
- Familiarity with scenario analysis, forecasting, or other decision-support use cases.
- Exposure to, or interest in, AI/ML and data-driven automation.
- Desirable: BI or analytics experience in cross-functional teams.
- Desirable: familiarity with data pipelines or analytics engineering concepts.
- Desirable: interest in automation or AI-led analytics.
- Desirable: Python experience for manipulation, automation, or analysis.
