Engineer - Proposal & Estimation

Role Overview

This position involves preparing reliable proposals and cost estimates for construction-related assignments. The role calls for strong analytical ability to break down project needs, assess costs for materials, labour, and other inputs, and package the findings into client-ready proposals.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Study project specifications and translate them into detailed cost estimates.
• Estimate expenses for materials, labour, and additional project resources.
• Prepare, refine, and present proposals for clients and project stakeholders.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align estimates with project scope.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and external partners during the bidding stage.
• Track project costs and help ensure spending remains within the approved budget.

Experience Expectations

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in estimation and proposal preparation for oil & gas, industrial, and power projects, covering both domestic and international work. Prior exposure to EPC organisations or project management consultancies will be an advantage.

Technical and Functional Knowledge

• Strong understanding of the business domain and client/PMC expectations.
• Familiarity with international standards and compliance requirements.
• Exposure to global practices used in proposals and estimates.
• Awareness of international business requirements and working methods.
• Understanding of the project lifecycle from concept to execution.
• Knowledge of how engineering, procurement, fabrication, and related functions connect.
• Practical exposure to site and construction activities.
• Experience interacting with vendors, clients, and consortium partners at early stages.

This role is based in Barasat-I, West Bengal, India, and is a full-time onsite opportunity.
