Entry-Level Sustainability Consultant

Role overview

A sustainability-focused organization is seeking an entry-level consultant to support advisory work for corporate clients, real estate developers, and municipal bodies. The position centers on helping organizations reduce emissions, improve resource efficiency, and stay aligned with environmental compliance requirements. The role is designed with a structured mentorship path intended to develop a graduate into an independent specialist within 18 months.

This is a full-time position based in California and offered on a remote basis. The compensation is a base salary of $60,000 to $80,000 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Key responsibilities

• Support greenhouse gas accounting and reporting by helping compile and validate Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions inventories using sustainability software.
• Work alongside engineering and architecture teams to review building-level data and assist projects in meeting certification and compliance targets such as LEED, WELL, and local energy codes.
• Create and update analytical models that track client use of water, energy, and waste diversion performance.
• Conduct market research and peer comparisons to help clients identify and prioritize ESG risks and long-term sustainability concerns.

Ideal background
