Role Overview

This position owns the accounting and financial reporting backbone that will support Mintlify as it scales toward $50M+ ARR. The role sits at the center of the finance organization and connects the outsourced accounting partner, day-to-day finance operations, and executive planning and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Take full ownership of month-end close and ensure financial statements are accurate and delivered on time.
Handle payroll, sales commissions, invoice payments, expense review, and approval processes.
Lead receivables, collections, and DSO reduction efforts across Mintlify and Helicone.
Manage revenue recognition and billing reconciliation for usage-based, credit-based, and multi-year contracts.
Oversee federal and state tax compliance, related filings, and rollout of compliance tools.
Run standalone reporting, intercompany accounting, and billing systems for Helicone.
Strengthen internal controls, streamline accounting workflows, and help prepare the company for future audit readiness.
Deliver dependable reporting and metrics that executives, investors, and the board can rely on.

What We’re Looking For

At least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, controllership, or finance in SaaS or technology businesses.
Strong command of full-cycle accounting, month-end close leadership, financial reporting, and GAAP.
Solid knowledge of SaaS revenue recognition, including usage-based billing, credits, overages, and recurring revenue structures.
Hands-on experience with receivables, collections, cash flow reporting, and other operational finance work.
Familiarity with SaaS operating metrics such as ARR, NRR, GRR, run-rate revenue, and DSO.
Ability to manage outside accounting partners while still owning outcomes internally.
Track record of building and improving finance processes in fast-moving, high-growth environments.

Working Style

The company is seeking someone with a strong sense of ownership and initiative. This role covers many responsibilities that currently sit with the COO, so the ability to prioritize independently, catch issues early, and execute without close supervision is essential. You should be comfortable working through complex billing reconciliations, improving controls, collaborating across teams, and stepping in wherever needed.

Compensation

The stated salary range is $190,000 to $210,000.
