Role overview
Ertech is hiring skilled Formwork Carpenters for a civil infrastructure project on Barrow Island in Western Australia. This is an on-site FIFO role supporting work in a gas plant setting, where you will help deliver new in-situ reinforced concrete structures for above-ground infrastructure.
The position runs on a full-time roster of 12-hour shifts, with either a 2:2 or 2:1 FIFO arrangement. The package includes competitive hourly pay plus applicable penalties.

What the role involves
Reporting to the Civil Supervisor, you will take responsibility for building, fitting, altering, and removing formwork systems used in reinforced concrete works. The structures involved include foundations, footings, plinths, equipment pads, retaining walls, and other related civil works.
Key duties
- Erect, alter, strip down, and dismantle formwork systems as required by the project
- Understand and work from construction drawings and technical specifications
- Use both proprietary and traditional formwork methods for assembly and stripping
- Maintain project standards for quality, safety, and workmanship
- Coordinate effectively with site crews to support delivery milestones
- Handle small to medium civil plant and equipment
- Follow permit-to-work processes and site safety controls
Required experience and qualifications
Applicants should hold a trade qualification in carpentry and have substantial experience in in-situ reinforced concrete construction. Strong hands-on experience with PERI and/or MEVA systems, along with conventional formwork, is required.
You should also bring prior exposure to an operational gas plant, oil and gas facility, mine site, or another comparable high-risk industrial environment. A White Card is required, along with permit-to-work training and practical experience. Candidates must have a strong focus on safety, quality, environmental compliance, and hold full Australian working rights.

Additional benefits include discounted private health insurance, annual flu vaccinations, novated lease options, service recognition, an employee referral program, and an employee assistance program for you and your family.
