Strong familiarity with Photoshop, InDesign, mobile photo-editing tools, and the Adobe Creative Cloud is important, along with a customer-oriented mindset when engaging online communities.
The intern will collaborate with the Creative Director and marketing team to produce visual assets that may combine production footage, photography, behind-the-scenes material, and original design ideas. The company places a high value on a polished and cohesive visual identity and wants someone who can contribute to that standard while growing creatively.
Responsibilities
- Create visual content and design assets for Heat Dance social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
- Partner with the production team and marketing lead to publish engaging, original, and inspiring posts.
- Develop artwork for web use, printed collateral, and other design needs as assigned.
- Contribute ideas for campaigns, content planning, and broader marketing efforts.
- Track developments in social media, entertainment, dance, and app trends, then apply those insights to create shareable content.
- Take on additional creative tasks as needed, with room to grow into broader responsibilities.
Requirements
- Genuine enthusiasm for a memorable and rewarding internship experience.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and move projects forward without close supervision.
- Clear communicator who responds promptly by email and phone.
- Comfortable using video to tell stories and communicate ideas.
- Creative thinker who regularly brings fresh concepts to the table.
- Efficient working style with a focus on smart execution.
- Strong sense of humor and natural creativity.
- Solid verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced team environment.
- Hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Exposure to SEO optimization is an added advantage.
- Strong familiarity with major social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Twitter, Snapchat, and YouTube, plus awareness of viral content and emerging digital trends.
- Comfort with technology and a strong interest in dance and music.
Perks and Benefits
- Portfolio-worthy work with a high production value.
- Networking exposure across USC, UCLA, and the Los Angeles startup ecosystem.
- Opportunities to develop new skills and strengthen existing ones.
- Potential for strong recommendations and future employment consideration.
- Possibility of growth into PR, digital marketing, or design responsibilities over time.
- Potential future employment with compensation up to $16 per hour for exceptional candidates.
- School credit support may be arranged where applicable.
