Role overview
Join a growing equipment rental business as an HGV Driver, working under the Transport Manager to move equipment safely between customer sites and company locations. The role involves both deliveries and collections across the North and South of Ireland, with a strong focus on safety, customer service, and accurate paperwork.
Key duties
- Drive HGV vehicles to deliver and collect equipment from assigned locations, including loading and unloading tasks.
- Carry out checks before and after trips in line with company procedures and legal requirements.
- Make sure all loads are secured correctly and transported in accordance with safety standards.
- Liaise with the transport team, customers, and colleagues to manage schedules and address delivery-related issues.
- Complete all job-related records and documentation accurately and on time.
Requirements
- Must hold a valid Category CE HGV licence and Driver Qualification Card.
- Previous HGV driving experience is required, ideally in a similar environment or sector.
- Need to be self-driven and comfortable adapting to changing work demands.
- Ability to use sat-nav or other navigation apps/systems.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-first attitude are essential.
- Should be able to work alone as well as collaboratively in a busy, fast-moving setting.
- Availability for rotational evening and weekend work may be needed.
Work schedule and pay
Standard hours are Monday to Thursday from 7:30am to 5:00pm and Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm. The position is based in Ballycoolin, Dublin. Pay is €22 per hour, with overtime paid at time and a half, and Sunday work paid at double time.
