A growing professional services organization based in Brecksville, Ohio is looking to hire a motivated Human Resources Generalist. This position is well suited to an HR professional with 1 to 3 years of experience who wants to expand their capabilities and contribute directly to employee support and day-to-day business operations.
What you will do
In this role, you will handle a broad mix of HR tasks, including hiring support, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and maintenance of employee records. The position calls for someone who is organized, approachable, detail-focused, and able to balance several priorities in a busy environment.
- Assist with end-to-end recruiting activities such as posting openings, reviewing applications, arranging interviews, and supporting offer coordination.
- Manage onboarding and orientation for new hires to help create a smooth start and positive first impression.
- Keep employee information accurate and confidential within HRIS platforms.
- Support benefits-related administration, including enrollments, updates, and employee inquiries.
- Act as a contact for employee relations concerns and escalate matters when necessary.
- Help maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Support performance management by tracking reviews and helping managers prepare documentation.
- Contribute to the creation and communication of HR policies and procedures.
- Assist with HR initiatives such as employee engagement activities, training efforts, and process improvements.
- Prepare HR reports and metrics when required.
What you should bring
The ideal candidate has 1 to 3 years of experience in an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, or comparable position. A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred, although equivalent experience may also be considered. You should have a practical understanding of employment regulations and HR best practices, along with experience using HRIS and applicant tracking systems. Strong communication and people skills are important, as is the ability to manage sensitive information carefully. You should also be highly organized, attentive to detail, and comfortable working both on your own and as part of a team. Professional certifications such as PHR or SHRM-CP are advantageous but not mandatory.
