Role Summary

This full-time Import Agent position is based in Dubai and follows a hybrid work model, combining office presence with some work-from-home flexibility. The role is responsible for coordinating the complete import cycle, from preparing documents and monitoring shipments to liaising with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customs brokers. You will also handle customs paperwork submission, troubleshoot delays affecting ocean freight, and keep customers informed with timely updates and professional support.

Key Duties

The Import Agent will work closely with internal teams to improve import processes, maintain orderly records, and ensure adherence to trade regulations and company procedures. Regular customer contact is part of the role, including answering shipment-related questions, sharing progress updates, and resolving service concerns.

Qualifications

Applicants should bring practical experience in import activities such as managing documentation and coordinating ocean shipments. Familiarity with customs brokerage workflows and relevant regulations is important, along with the ability to deal effectively with customs authorities and related partners. Strong client-facing communication, excellent organization, and a careful eye for detail are essential for handling multiple shipments and deadlines at once. Experience in international trade, logistics, or freight forwarding is preferred. Candidates should be comfortable working in a hybrid setup in Dubai and able to perform independently as well as collaboratively. Confidence with office software and basic logistics or ERP tools is expected, while shipment tracking system knowledge is an added advantage. A diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field is beneficial. Professional English is required, and additional languages connected to major trading regions are a plus.
