Role overview

Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara is looking for an IT Executive to oversee the day-to-day reliability of the property’s technology environment. The role sits within Minor Hotels, an international hospitality group with a portfolio of more than 530 properties across 50+ countries in Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian Ocean, Europe, and South America.

This position is responsible for keeping core hotel technology running efficiently, including computer networks, software platforms, and communication tools. You will support multiple departments by resolving technical issues, strengthening data protection, and helping ensure vital systems remain available with minimal downtime.

Systems and network management

• Keep hotel IT systems operational by supporting and troubleshooting platforms such as PMS, POS, accounting tools, and other property applications.
• Oversee LAN/WAN connectivity, Wi-Fi performance, and server infrastructure.
• Maintain backup routines, disaster recovery readiness, and required security controls.

User support

• Provide everyday technical assistance to hotel employees across hardware, software, email, and printing issues.
• Install and configure workstations, user profiles, and access rights for new and existing staff.
• Guide team members on the correct use of hotel systems and internal IT procedures.

Maintenance and upgrades

• Work with external vendors and service partners for hardware, software, and network servicing.
• Schedule and carry out regular updates and preventive maintenance across systems.
• Keep detailed records of IT equipment, software licenses, and warranty information.

Security and compliance

• Support compliance with data protection requirements and PCI-DSS standards.
• Watch for security risks and help prevent unauthorized access or data loss.
• Review systems periodically for security, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Communication systems

• Maintain hotel communication infrastructure such as IP phones, PBX, and VoIP services.
• Ensure guest internet services function properly and resolve connection issues quickly.

Qualifications

The preferred candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field, and bring 2 to 4 years of IT support experience, ideally from hospitality.

Working conditions

The role is based at Banana Island Resort Doha in Doha, Qatar. It is a full-time, on-site position and may require support outside standard hours, including 24/7 assistance when needed.
