Role overview
A real estate business in Dubai is seeking a detail-focused Accountant to support day-to-day finance operations and property management accounting. The role involves handling routine accounting work, preparing reports, and ensuring adherence to applicable UAE financial rules, VAT requirements, and AML obligations.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out daily accounting entries and other routine financial transactions.
- Track and manage payable and receivable accounts.
- Compile monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Keep the general ledger updated and complete bank reconciliation work.
- Oversee rental collections, property-related expenses, and service charge records.
- Support accounting for managed properties and prepare owner statements.
- Assist with budgeting, billing, and financial projections.
- Follow UAE accounting standards, VAT rules, and internal finance policies.
- Perform AML checks, maintain compliance documentation, and assist with regulatory reporting.
- Review financial activity for unusual patterns and escalate suspicious transactions according to AML procedures.
- Help with audits, VAT submissions, and tax-related paperwork.
- Ensure financial data is recorded accurately and reporting systems are properly maintained.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least 1 to 2 years of accounting experience, ideally within real estate or property management.
- Working knowledge of AML compliance processes and UAE regulations.
- Good command of accounting tools and Microsoft Excel.
- Understanding of UAE VAT requirements.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical thinking.
- Ability to work independently and deliver tasks within deadlines.
Preferred profile
- Prior exposure to real estate accounting systems is an advantage.
- Strong written and verbal communication, along with reporting skills, is preferred.
- Candidates who can join immediately are preferred.
