About the Role

Formula 1 is seeking a Logistics Assistant to join its Freight and Distribution team in Biggin Hill. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the role supports the day-to-day planning and delivery of transport and logistics activity, including van driving, route coordination, vehicle upkeep, and the storage, handling, and preparation of containers and equipment. The position plays an important part in ensuring goods and equipment move safely, on time, and in line with all relevant rules across both UK and international routes.

About the Organisation

Formula 1 is driven by a long-standing focus on innovation, performance, and positive impact. Since 1950, the sport has continued to lead technological progress while delivering world-class entertainment. Every broadcast, race event, and operational activity is supported by specialist teams across engineering, logistics, security, event delivery, media, commercial, and communications.

Key Duties

  • Operate company vans for planned and short-notice deliveries and collections.
  • Support the scheduling and coordination of freight and transport movement plans.
  • Arrange additional transport bookings and movement requests when needed.
  • Track and arrange servicing for vehicles and plant to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Make sure vehicles remain compliant with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Manage fuel ordering and toll payments for domestic journeys.
  • Keep storage areas and workspaces tidy, organised, and fit for use.
  • Help refurbish and refresh containers through tasks such as relabelling, cleaning, organising, and minor repairs.
  • Position containers for easy access, loading, unloading, or storage as required.
  • Support the loading and unloading of stillages, pallets, and other freight items.
  • Use forklifts where trained and only in line with health and safety requirements.
  • Record and report any damage to vehicles, equipment, containers, or plant.
  • Be prepared for occasional travel and flexibility in working hours to meet operational needs.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will be adaptable, organised, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment. A practical, detail-focused approach is essential, along with the willingness to take on extra tasks when asked by management.

Qualifications and Experience

A valid UK driving licence is required. An HGV licence and forklift certification or competence would be advantageous, though they are not mandatory. The role calls for previous experience in transport planning and logistics coordination, as well as a background in working to safety and security procedures. Experience with logistics or fleet management software would be beneficial.

Essential Knowledge and Skills

Candidates should have a working understanding of dangerous goods handling, shipping paperwork, and customs processes. Basic mechanical knowledge to support vehicle and plant maintenance coordination is also important, together with strong organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Benefits

  • Private healthcare cover.
  • Dental care support.
  • Four Grand Prix paddock passes each season.
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave, plus other family planning policies.
  • Free staff shuttle service to and from nearby train stations around Biggin Hill.
  • Complimentary healthy snacks in the office.
  • Subsidised canteen in Biggin Hill offering breakfast and lunch.
  • 25 days of annual leave, 8 bank holiday days, and a Christmas shutdown period.
  • Learning and development support with opportunities to request role-related training.
  • Discounts on Formula 1 merchandise.
  • Reduced entry for Formula 1 experiences, including F1 Arcade and F1 Drive.
  • Access to the Perkbox benefits portal and additional perks.

Additional Information

This role sits within the Technical division. The employer may expect flexibility in working patterns and occasional travel to support operational requirements.
