Manufacturing Engineer

Role overview

A biopharmaceutical company in Waterford is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to support the dependable production of syringe and vial medicines for patients around the world. This position is centered on improving and sustaining operations across inspection, assembly, labelling, and cartoning for autoinjectors, prefilled syringes, and vials, covering both manual activities and high-speed automated lines.

What you will do

• Provide engineering support across the manufacturing operation.
• Help drive continuous improvement work on existing equipment and processes.
• Collaborate with teams in technical, quality, and supply chain functions.
• Use knowledge of current manufacturing technologies to support the rollout of new technologies, with an emphasis on better output and yield.
• Maintain compliance with safety and quality requirements, troubleshoot process and equipment issues, and identify improvements to products and processes.
• Assist with qualification activities for new products and processes, including review of equipment performance data and management of improvement work within budget and timeline.
• Support new product introductions and capacity expansions through vendor selection, maintenance planning, design changes, change control, and performance improvements.
• Lead technical root-cause investigations.
• Contribute to safety and quality programmes and initiatives.

Qualifications and experience

• A degree in an engineering discipline is required.
• Prior experience in a GMP-regulated environment is needed.
• You should have strong problem-solving and communication abilities.
• Experience in documentation, protocol creation, and execution is important.
• Data analysis experience involving equipment and integrated systems would be an advantage.
