Packaging Operator

Role Overview

This position is for a Packaging Operator responsible for running packaging equipment, checking finished goods, and keeping the packing area efficient, safe, and well organized.

Key Duties

• Set up, calibrate, and run packaging machines so products are packed in line with company standards.
• Review completed packs for correct seals, labels, and overall packaging quality to make sure they meet safety and quality rules.
• Carry out basic upkeep such as cleaning equipment, spotting issues, troubleshooting minor faults, and handling small repairs to reduce machine stoppages.
• Maintain production records, including output figures and any problems or incidents observed during the shift.
• Follow workplace safety procedures, including relevant safety compliance practices, and keep the work area tidy and orderly.
• Track packaging supplies such as boxes and film, and move finished items to the assigned storage or inventory location.

Skills and Requirements

• Comfort with repetitive hand-based tasks and the ability to sort, place, and handle items efficiently.
• Willingness and ability to learn automated equipment operation and, where needed, basic computer-based systems.
• Strong eye for detail to maintain accuracy in packing, labeling, and quality checks.
• Good physical endurance for standing for long periods and moving packaged goods as required.
• Clear communication skills to coordinate with team members and report concerns to supervisors.
