Role overview
This position is part of the Engineering & Facilities function at a luxury hotel in Doha, Qatar. It is a full-time, non-management role based on-site at Ras Abu Abboud Street. The job focuses on preparing, painting, and finishing interior surfaces and furniture to uphold the property’s appearance and quality standards.
Key duties
- Apply paints, stains, and other finishing materials to walls, ceilings, and furniture using brushes, spray equipment, or rollers.
- Prime or seal new surfaces so they are ready for finishing coats.
- Remove old finishes by stripping wallpaper, sanding, wire-brushing, burning, or using water and/or abrasive blasting methods.
- Protect surrounding areas with suitable coverings while painting is in progress and place warning signs to indicate fresh paint.
- Clean and properly store paint, tools, and painting equipment after use.
- Work with suppliers to adjust paint colors, stains, or varnishes when required.
- Follow all company and safety policies, report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries, and complete required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a neat, professional uniform and personal appearance, protect company property, and keep proprietary information confidential.
- Welcome and acknowledge guests in line with company standards, anticipate service needs, assist guests with disabilities, and thank guests sincerely.
- Communicate with others clearly and professionally, support the team in achieving shared goals, and help ensure quality standards are met.
- Perform physical tasks such as reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, crouching, climbing ladders, and handling objects of different sizes and weights.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Remain standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods.
- Carry out other reasonable work duties as requested by supervisors.
Desired qualifications
