Role Overview
An international real estate and infrastructure company is looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to be based in Frankfurt, Germany. The position sits within the logistics and industrial sector and offers the chance to support large-scale developments across Europe and other global markets.
This opportunity is aimed at procurement professionals with a solid engineering procurement background, especially in civil engineering and construction. Experience in civil engineering cost estimation or quantity surveying, along with practical supplier and procurement management exposure, is essential.
What You Will Do
Reporting to the Group Director of International Procurement, you will oversee and support procurement activity across both development and operational projects. You will work alongside Development, Business Development, Asset Management, and delivery teams to shape procurement approach, run tendering processes, manage suppliers, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
The role is suited to someone who wants to contribute to high-profile logistics and industrial construction work in a fast-moving international setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute procurement plans for civil engineering and construction assignments within logistics and industrial developments.
- Align procurement activity with project schedules, financial targets, and operational needs.
- Ensure all purchasing activity follows local laws, internal policies, and recognised international standards.
- Take ownership of procurement for civil works, construction materials, contractors, and technical specialist services.
- Run the end-to-end tender and bidding process, including tender pack preparation, bid comparison, commercial discussions, contract finalisation, and purchase order handling.
- Support project teams with procurement delivery for both new development and refurbishment works.
- Develop strong working relationships with suppliers and contractors across Germany and broader Europe.
- Negotiate commercial terms and longer-term supply arrangements.
- Track vendor performance and quickly resolve procurement-related challenges.
- Use civil engineering cost estimation and/or quantity surveying expertise to support budgets, benchmarks, and cost control.
- Review market rates, project spend, and procurement efficiency to inform commercial decisions.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant will hold a degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a similar field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement is required, specifically within civil engineering, construction, logistics and industrial developments, or real estate and infrastructure projects.
You should bring a strong background in engineering procurement, with exposure to technical and construction-related packages. Proven experience in civil engineering cost estimation or quantity surveying is also needed.
A good understanding of local procurement markets, contractor management, and construction cost structures is important, as is experience managing procurement from tender stage through to contract award.
Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills are expected.
Fluency in English is mandatory, and strong German language skills are essential for effective collaboration with local suppliers, contractors, and internal teams.
