Role overview
This is a full-time remote position for a Social-First PR Associate. You will serve as the day-to-day execution lead for communications and influencer programs, partnering closely with the Head of PR & Partnerships. The role sits at the intersection of earned media, influencer relationships, and brand activations, translating strategy into visible coverage and engagement.
This is a nontraditional PR role. The focus is not on drafting standard press releases and filing routine reports. Instead, the work centers on story pitching designed for social reach, managing influencer relationships that can organically amplify the brand, and supporting live activations by capturing content and helping secure immediate press attention. A strong understanding of how PR and social media work together is essential.
Key responsibilities
- Support outreach and pitching to earned media contacts across fashion, lifestyle, business, and culture publications.
- Build, maintain, and regularly update the media contact list while keeping relationships active through ongoing touchpoints.
- Help create press materials, pitch decks, and communication assets for launches and major brand moments.
- Track media coverage every day and prepare coverage summaries and recaps for weekly reporting.
- Manage the press calendar so it stays aligned with the brand calendar and activation schedule.
- Run the always-on media and celebrity gifting program from end to end, including prospecting, outreach, tracking, and reporting.
- Watch for organic posts or mentions from influencers and notable buyers and surface opportunities for timely amplification.
- Assist with statement of work development and partnership coordination when needed.
- Provide on-site support for activations, including events such as the Titty Clinic bus at NYFW, Art Basel, and beyond.
- Capture content in real time, support social posting, and help drive press and influencer amplification during activations.
- Coordinate logistics and communicate with vendors to help ensure smooth execution of activations.
- Work closely with creative, social, and marketing teams so PR assets and messaging remain consistent.
- Handle incoming press and partnership inquiries.
- Support internal scheduling and coordination with both team members and external partners.
Candidate profile
- 2 to 4 years of experience in PR, influencer marketing, or brand communications, ideally gained in-house at a consumer brand or at an agency within fashion, beauty, or lifestyle.
- A social-first approach to PR, with the ability to identify stories that can perform well across social channels and understand the difference between coverage that is merely published and coverage that is widely shared.
- Established relationships with fashion and lifestyle media contacts and/or influencer talent are strongly preferred.
- Excellent writing ability for pitches, recaps, and captions.
- Highly organized, self-managed, and comfortable handling a high-volume pipeline across multiple workstreams at once.
- Adaptable in a fast-moving environment where priorities can change quickly and no two weeks are the same.
Compensation
The base salary for this role is $55,000 to $65,000 per year.
