Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site Quality Engineer position in Umm Al Quwain, United Arab Emirates. The role focuses on strengthening quality across the design, fabrication, installation, and service stages of crane and material handling solutions. The successful candidate will create and execute quality plans, verify components and finished goods through inspection and testing, and ensure alignment with company procedures and applicable regulations.
The position also requires handling non-conformance investigations, identifying root causes, and coordinating corrective and preventive actions with engineering, production, and maintenance teams. In addition, the Quality Engineer will keep quality records updated, assist with audits and certifications, and support continuous improvement efforts aimed at improving product reliability and customer satisfaction.
Key Duties
- Build project-specific quality control plans and monitor their implementation.
- Check incoming materials to confirm that they meet required specifications.
- Verify welding quality by reviewing welding parameters against approved WPS, PQR, WPQR, and NDT requirements.
- Carry out dimensional inspections on finished products.
- Monitor and validate painting quality.
- Review electrical commissioning reports to ensure they match customer requirements and applicable standards.
- Observe factory acceptance tests to confirm equipment performance against order specifications.
- Oversee packing and marking of delivered equipment to ensure procedure compliance.
- Record quality-related reports in the project system on a project-by-project basis.
- Prepare the documentation required for customer quality control records.
- Create non-conformance reports whenever issues are identified during quality checks.
- Ensure workers’ and tools’ certifications are kept current for production and installation activities, while maintaining an up-to-date certification and maintenance register.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should bring a solid background in Quality Engineering and practical experience applying engineering principles to improve product and process quality. Experience in Quality Control should include welding inspection, testing, measurement, and the use of relevant tools and instruments.
The role also calls for Quality Assurance experience, including the creation of procedures, work instructions, and audit programmes that support compliance. Candidates should understand Product Quality and Quality Management systems, including root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement methods.
A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience.
