Role overview
This is a permanent Quantity Surveyor position with a wholesale business focused on building materials. The role is based in Tuas, Singapore, and follows a 5.5-day work week.
Working schedule and compensation
Work hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 6:00pm, and Saturday from 9:00am to 1:00pm. The salary offered is a basic monthly pay of up to $4,500, plus a variable bonus.
What you will handle
- Build cost estimates, budgets, and quantity take-offs.
- Request pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Put together tender documents, pricing comparisons, and commercial proposals.
- Track project spending and overall cost performance.
- Check claims, invoices, and payment submissions for accuracy.
- Work closely with sales, procurement, logistics, and project teams.
- Prepare variation orders, progress claims, and final account statements.
- Keep contracts, quotations, purchase orders, and project files organised and updated.
- Communicate with customers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Compile cost updates and reports for management.
- Carry out any other assigned duties as needed.
What the employer is looking for
- A diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a similar field.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, cost estimating, tender preparation, or contract administration.
- Background in construction, building materials, engineering, or a related sector will be an advantage.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contract paperwork.
- Working knowledge of tendering, costing, and procurement workflows.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
