Role overview
As a trained RAF Cabin Crew member, you will help deliver a safe, comfortable, and professional in-flight experience for passengers travelling on 10 Squadron or 101 Squadron Voyager aircraft operating from RAF Brize Norton. In this front-facing role, you will represent the Royal Air Force, welcome passengers on arrival and departure, and provide attentive support to anyone who needs extra care.
Key duties
- Provide meals and drinks to passengers and crew during flights.
- Demonstrate the use of safety equipment and explain emergency procedures.
- Keep all emergency equipment onboard in proper working condition.
- Respond to medical incidents and other onboard emergencies calmly and professionally, including giving first aid when required.
- Act as a high-standard ambassador for the RAF while serving a wide range of distinguished passengers.
- Oversee RAF Houses, coordinate hotel-related services, and help ensure events run smoothly for senior-profile occasions.
Entry requirements
Applicants must have at least GCSEs in English Language and Mathematics at grade G/1, or the Scottish equivalent of National 4 or higher in both subjects. Candidates applying through qualified entry should refer to the relevant website guidance. You must be between 17 years 9 months and 47 years of age, with attestation required before your 48th birthday. Nationality and residency conditions also apply, and full details are provided in the Entry Requirements section. A height range of 161 cm to 195 cm is required. You must also be willing to commit to a minimum of 3 years after specialist training, pass the Defence Aptitude Assessment, and complete the fitness test.
Additional information
This role is based on board Voyager aircraft with 10 Squadron or 101 Squadron at RAF Brize Norton. It is a specialist military role with training followed by a multi-year service commitment.
