Role overview
Blacklane is hiring a Senior Operations Manager in Berlin for a one-year fixed-term contract. The position is focused on expanding operations across selected European markets and strengthening Blacklane’s standing with supply partners, including professional chauffeurs. You will be responsible for balancing supply and demand, improving partner relationships, and raising operational performance while keeping costs efficient and margins healthy. This role reports to the Head of Operations for the Europe Cluster.
Key responsibilities
- Create and roll out regional partnership strategies for ground transportation supply to help ensure a premium guest experience at an efficient cost base.
- Oversee supply costs, quality indicators, and availability, and turn KPI performance into practical operational measures.
- Own pricing and margin outcomes for the supply side, while keeping demand and capacity aligned with profitability and fulfillment goals.
- Respond to market changes with sound operational calls, including pricing updates and allocation of capacity.
- Build strong partner loyalty and engagement, especially in markets with limited supply or low demand.
- Bring the chauffeur perspective into internal discussions so operational and product decisions reflect real-world partner needs.
- Help define and refine the global supply strategy.
- Improve operational processes by working closely with cross-functional teams to address issues and unlock opportunities.
- Use data analysis and market intelligence to spot risks, sharpen forecasts, and support decision-making.
- Work with Sales, Marketing, Legal, Finance, Business Intelligence, and Product to keep commercial, legal, and operational goals aligned.
- Develop long-term strategic relationships with supply and corporate partners.
- Showcase supply capabilities to external stakeholders and represent Blacklane in partner conversations.
- Operate primarily in the field and travel regularly to deepen relationships and stay close to market conditions.
- Lead, coach, and develop the regional team responsible for chauffeur supply.
- Strengthen the team’s analytical capability and relationship management approach.
- Promote clear storytelling with data and strong ownership of results across markets.
Candidate profile
- At least 5 years of experience in strategy, operations, or a comparable role in a fast-moving environment.
- Solid understanding of partnership management and relationship-based business models.
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to read supply-demand patterns and convert insights into action.
- Proven experience managing KPIs, margin performance, and operational plans.
- Excellent people skills with the ability to establish trust quickly with both partners and internal teams.
- Confident negotiation skills with a focus on achieving mutually beneficial outcomes while protecting commercial results.
- Comfortable working in uncertain and rapidly changing environments.
- Background in leading and developing teams.
- Ability to communicate complex insights clearly through data-led storytelling.
- Fluent in English and German.
- Willingness to travel regularly across the region, around 25–40% of the time.
