Role overview
We are seeking a caring, patient Shadow Teacher to support an 11-year-old student individually during school hours at a CBSE school in Sun City, Hyderabad. The role focuses on helping the child stay engaged in class, complete academic work, build social skills, and manage behaviour while steadily growing in confidence and independence.
Work location and schedule
Location: Sun City, Hyderabad
School type: CBSE school
Student age: 11 years
Working hours: 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Additional meetings with parents or teachers may be required when needed.
Key responsibilities
- Provide dedicated one-to-one support throughout the school day.
- Guide the student through academic tasks and classroom activities.
- Help sustain attention, participation, and engagement in lessons.
- Support communication and positive interaction with classmates and teachers.
- Follow intervention strategies suggested by therapists, parents, and the school.
- Promote independence by encouraging the student to do tasks with support rather than doing them for the student.
- Observe behaviour and emotional regulation, using positive reinforcement approaches.
- Keep daily notes on progress and share updates with parents.
- Work closely with class teachers and parents to maintain consistency in learning and behavioural goals.
- Support the student during assemblies, extracurriculars, field trips, and class transitions when required.
Required qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Special Education, Education, Child Development, Occupational Therapy, or a related discipline. Freshers with relevant internships or prior experience working with children are welcome. A certification in Special Education or experience with neurodivergent children will be an added advantage.
