DoorDash is creating a highly dependable on-demand logistics platform that supports delivery at scale. The engineering organization is growing quickly and is focused on building a 24/7 global system that powers the marketplace connecting consumers, merchants, and dashers.

About the Role

This opening is for Backend Engineers who will contribute to both product-focused and platform-focused teams. In product-oriented work, you will sit at the intersection of customer experience and infrastructure, solving important business problems through thoughtful technical design. You will own backend services and system architecture for product capabilities, partner closely with cross-functional teams, and make trade-offs that maximize business value. The role is hybrid, includes some in-office work, and reports to an Engineering Manager.

What You Will Do

• Build, launch, and operate web applications at large scale.
• Shape backend architecture and technology choices for a product domain.
• Strengthen performance, reliability, scalability, and security across backend systems.
• Help evolve a monolithic application into a microservices-based setup.
• Work on difficult, high-impact technical problems that improve logistics operations.

Requirements

The team is seeking experienced engineers with backend systems exposure and a strong foundation in modern service development. The successful candidate should be comfortable designing APIs, testing code, and thinking through architecture and system efficiency. The role also expects familiarity with using AI-assisted coding tools across the full software lifecycle, including design, code generation, testing, monitoring, and release.

Compensation and Benefits

This position includes base salary, with final pay determined by skills, relevant experience, and work location. Equity grants may also be part of the total compensation package. Pay Range

The listed base salary range for British Columbia is as follows: I4: CAD 120,000 to 150,000; I5: CAD 149,500 to 187,000; I6: CAD 185,000 to 231,500.
