About the Company
The hiring organization is East African Breweries PLC (EABL), a major alcohol beverage business in East Africa with a broad portfolio that includes beer, spirits, and adult non-alcoholic drinks. Role Purpose
This position is responsible for managing engineering store processes and ensuring they comply with company standards. The role covers the full flow from receiving maintenance work order demand for spare parts or services, preparing requisition details, and processing deliveries, while also making sure inventory counts are complete and any shortages are investigated.
Key Duties
- Keep all supporting documents complete and accurate.
- Record every transaction correctly in the system.
- Issue the right items, in the right quantity, according to customer needs.
- Post transactions in SAP accurately and on time.
- Take part in monthly and yearly stock counts.
- Carry out recounts to confirm stock figures.
- Support investigations into inventory discrepancies.
- Track materials properly between delivery points.
- Arrange for direct deliveries to be collected without delay.
- Ensure materials are delivered in line with company specifications.
- Protect returned materials until they are sent back to the supplier.
- Quarantine return items so they do not re-enter the process by mistake.
- Maintain the store layout in line with good housekeeping standards.
- Receive and issue stock using FIFO principles.
- Keep storage locations secure and under control at all times.
- Make sure every material has a bin or location and is stored accordingly.
- Label items correctly based on required standards.
- Ensure stored materials meet Global Asset Care inventory standards.
- Handle materials in line with documented work instructions.
- Contribute to improving store procedures and work instructions.
- Take part in developing work instructions.
- Prepare and run reports required for store control.
- Help enforce environment, health, and safety standards for all team members.
- Keep the work area compliant with EHS requirements, including OHS rules, work instructions, and equipment specifications.
- Update safety reports and checklists as needed.
- Continuously build personal capability to improve individual and team productivity.
Qualifications
A diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical & Processing Engineering, or another related engineering discipline is required.
Experience
Applicants should have at least 2 years of experience in stores management.
Systems and Tools
Practical ability with EQMS, SAP, and Microsoft Office applications is needed.
