Store Driver

Role Overview

This role is centered on supporting store operations through safe deliveries, customer service, inventory handling, and active sales support. The position involves transporting parts to professional customers, assisting walk-in shoppers, maintaining store standards, and helping drive sales through product knowledge and relationship-building.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, stage, and deliver automotive parts to professional customers in a safe and timely manner.
• Retrieve returned items and used cores from customers.
• Distribute weekly and monthly promotional flyers while highlighting current offers and loyalty initiatives.
• Handle daily collection activities for credit accounts.
• Develop and nurture relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers, sharing delivery-related insights with the CPP.
• Support upselling and cross-selling efforts to help improve average transaction value.
• Keep the store clean and organized, including floors, restrooms, facing, dusting, and parking areas.
• Assist with stock handling such as truck unloading, back stock organization, and cycle counts.
• Stay familiar with inventory and new product arrivals to support sales efforts.
• Interact with walk-in customers, understand their needs, and suggest suitable parts or services.
• Take on additional duties as needed.

Essential Skills and Work Requirements

• Ability to speak and write in English; Spanish is an added advantage.
• Capability to communicate well and build positive relationships with customers, peers, and leaders.
• Skill in understanding safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance guides, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
• Basic arithmetic ability, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Flexibility to work various days, evenings, and weekends as required.
• Confidence in approaching customers and promoting products.
• Willingness to learn about new products and selling techniques.

Experience and Education

Prior automotive parts experience is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Licensing

A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is mandatory.

Physical Demands

This job is primarily performed while walking or standing. The role also requires the ability to speak, hear, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects; reach with arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Lifting requirements include frequent handling of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds with assistance. Required vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision, as well as depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The position is generally performed indoors, with occasional outdoor work in varying weather conditions, such as when installing batteries and wiper blades. The environment may also include exposure to moving machinery, elevated areas, chemicals, electrical hazards, explosives, and vibration. Noise levels are typically moderate.
