Job Summary
The Stores Controller will oversee and coordinate the airline stores function, covering the receiving, safe keeping, and issuing of tools, equipment, and spare parts used to support maintenance activities for Air Arabia and third-party aircraft. The role requires strict adherence to company procedures and applicable aviation regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain inventory levels for frequently used items and routine maintenance requirements, including tool kits, spare parts, wheels, batteries, oils, and similar materials.
- Make sure needed parts and components are ready in time to support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, helping ensure aircraft availability and safe release.
- Perform daily inspections of storage areas to confirm proper environmental and safety conditions, including temperature, humidity, hygiene, and hazard controls.
- Organize bin locations and assign tools and parts in stores based on instructions from the line manager or AOG desk in-charge, while keeping AMOS records updated; also coordinate replenishment of consumables and system updates.
- Review and update AMOS entries for all received, stored, and issued materials, considering shelf life, tool calibration, shift handovers, logbooks, critical movements, and related control formats.
- Preload the system with ADD/MDD requirements so items are available for timely retrieval, ensuring all materials are entered under the correct coding structure.
- Issue daily toolboxes, kits, spare parts, and components according to maintenance plans for Air Arabia and third-party aircraft routine work, and keep proper issue/receipt tracking.
- Provide on-demand inventory and stores assistance to Air Arabia and third-party operations in line with approved procedures.
- Ensure all maintenance tools and equipment remain serviceable; report unserviceable items to the Rotables Team and coordinate repair activities with vendors when required.
- Return unused issued parts back into stock and update the main stores records in line with company procedures.
- Prepare stock reports regularly and investigate system errors, identifying root causes and corrective actions to prevent repeat issues.
- Support the line manager in maintaining store safety measures, adequate facilities, cleanliness, storage standards, communication flow, and overall store performance.
- Assist with logistics for parts movement to and from Air Arabia MRO, outstations, and aircraft, and coordinate with relevant teams on receiving engines, APUs, and handling dangerous goods.
Qualification Requirements
- A high school qualification, diploma, or certificate in a relevant field from a recognized institution is acceptable when paired with the required experience; a bachelor’s degree in any discipline is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Very good verbal and written communication skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Good command of English.
- Valid driving licence for the assigned location.
Experience and Work Conditions
- Must be willing to work in a rotating shift schedule.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role within the airline sector; experience with a low-cost carrier is considered an advantage.
- Background using inventory software will be an added benefit.
- Prior exposure to civil aviation regulations related to the acceptance, storage, and issuing of aircraft maintenance tools and equipment is required.
- Knowledge of IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, including completed training, is an advantage.
