About the Organisation
St Christopher's Services CLG delivers support to people with intellectual disabilities through a community-based model focused on quality, inclusion, and helping each person achieve their potential. The organisation works with individuals and families in a person-centred way, guided by national standards, good practice, and research.
Role Overview
This is a permanent Supervisor position within St Christopher's Day Services in Longford. The role is centred on maintaining a high standard of person-focused care, supporting greater independence, and improving the everyday quality of life of service users.
The Supervisor will also help ensure the area runs smoothly and will work closely with the Unit Head to identify appropriate programmes, work opportunities, and activities that suit the differing needs of the people using the service.
Essential Qualifications
Applicants must have at least an Ordinary Degree (HETAC Level 7) in Applied Social Studies/Social Care, Nursing, or a recognised equivalent qualification.
Under the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005, as amended, the Social Care Worker/Supervisor profession is regulated. Full, current CORU registration is mandatory at the time of application. Candidates whose registration is not complete, is pending, in progress, has only been applied for, or is awaiting a decision will not be considered.
Experience and Personal Attributes
Relevant experience with people with intellectual disabilities and complex needs is required. A full clean driving licence is necessary, along with a willingness to drive as part of the role.
The ideal candidate will be discreet, calm, courteous, professional, well presented, and naturally caring. Strong communication and attentive listening skills are also expected, together with the competencies outlined in the job description and person specification.
