Trainee PPC Engineer

Role Overview

This position supports production planning and control activities within a precision manufacturing environment. The selected candidate will help coordinate schedules, monitor material readiness, follow up on shop-floor progress, and keep planning data current so operations run smoothly.

What You Will Do

• Prepare short-term and long-term production plans using customer demand, delivery priorities, and available capacity.
• Coordinate the release of work orders, job cards, and production schedules with planning and manufacturing teams.
• Monitor actual production against plan and report delays, bottlenecks, and pending deliveries.
• Work with stores and purchasing teams to track material availability and ensure raw materials and bought-out parts are ready on time.
• Support machine loading checks, routing movement, and capacity tracking to help meet delivery schedules.
• Update ERP and MIS records with job progress, material position, and schedule revisions.
• Prepare planning summaries, MIS updates, and production reports for review by PPC and operations stakeholders.
• Follow up with production, quality, and stores teams to close open actions and improve coordination across departments.
• Assist in adopting planning discipline, prioritization practices, and basic inventory coordination methods.
• Maintain documentation related to schedules, work orders, production updates, and dispatch readiness.
• Follow company procedures, quality expectations, 5S requirements, and EHS guidelines in daily work.

Requirements

• B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering is required for this role.
• Exposure to mechanical, industrial, production, or other manufacturing-related academic backgrounds is relevant.
• About 1 to 5 years of experience in PPC, production planning, operations support, or a similar manufacturing coordination role is preferred.
• Freshers with strong aptitude may also be considered.
• Working knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and coordination in a manufacturing setup is needed.
• Good analytical ability and strong command of MS Excel are important.
• Familiarity with ERP or MIS tools will be an advantage.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow up effectively across teams are expected.
• The candidate must be willing to learn planning processes and cross-functional workflows.
