About the Role

Integrated Power Services is seeking a hands-on Winder to join its in-shop team in Burlington, Ontario. What You’ll Do

  • Rewind different types of basic electromechanical equipment.
  • Take apart or strip units that are damaged or no longer serviceable, including media blasting when required.
  • Examine equipment for winding issues and signs of electrical malfunction.
  • Capture and maintain all relevant information about electromagnetic properties, operating conditions, existing damage, and possible future use.
  • Prepare reusable parts for rewinding and check restored parts for concealed structural damage or unusual conditions.
  • Remove stators or other apparatus without harming the core or iron.
  • Carry out voltage testing on rewound equipment in line with quality requirements and record the results.

Experience and Skills Needed

  • Practical experience rewinding AC and DC electric motors.
  • Hands-on background working with windings, armatures, and synchronous rotor poles.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand instructions that range from simple to moderately complex, both spoken and written.
  • Comfort learning, retaining, and following technical, operational, and safety procedures.
  • Sound judgment and initiative when handling routine responsibilities within company guidelines.
  • Ability to use machinery and hoists.
