About ODMP
Odisha Development Management Programme (ODMP) is a registered collective of grassroots NGOs, environmental advocates, and academicians that emerged from the civic response following the 1999 super cyclone in Odisha. The organisation began its work from Puri district in 2001, when 51 NGOs across 11 blocks partnered with ODMP under UNICEF and the Rural Development Department, Government of Odisha, to support the district’s water and sanitation programme. ODMP served as the nodal agency for the initiative from 2001-02 to 2003-04 and received recognition at both state and national levels. From 2005 onward, the organisation expanded its development and environment-focused work to other districts in Odisha. One of its key initiatives, Nirmal Srikhetra Aviyan, focuses on solid and hospital waste management in Puri city and has been carried out under the leadership of ODMP with support from UNDP-SGP-GEF, GIZ, and RKS, District Headquarters Hospital, Puri.
