Checker Operator

Core duties

• Carry out pre-shift forklift inspections using the designated checklist before each work period.
• Operate, clean, and keep the forklift in proper working condition.
• Check that fuel and fluids remain within required operating levels.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental rules, including stacking exemptions and site housekeeping expectations.
• Use the required personal protective equipment in line with site safety rules.
• Comply with applicable SOPs and GOPs.
• Maintain warehouse stock age controls by applying FEFO rotation principles.
• Inspect packaging on the warehouse floor and before loading to support quality control.
• Help maintain strong inventory governance and control procedures.
• Take part in shift handovers before and after every shift.
• Perform accurate daily stock counts using a handheld device.
• Prepare variance reports and help close stock discrepancies.
• Keep effective communication flowing with inventory, warehouse, and other relevant teams.
• Load and unload vehicles carefully and accurately, using load summaries to ensure the correct pallet quantities are handled.
• Record returns accurately before unloading.
• Track stock movements for finished goods and empties moving to and from production lines.
• Complete bin sign-off steps to support correct stock and inventory reconciliation.
• Work closely with logistics coordinators and team members to ensure smooth operations.
• Complete all required documentation clearly and accurately.
• Support production continuity where needed.
• Load empties and raw materials onto production lines while maintaining productivity.
• Remove finished goods from the line to the bin while keeping line efficiency high.
• Stay familiar with business policies, procedures, and operational information.

Required qualifications and experience

• Certificate in forklift operation from a recognized institution.
• National diploma or an equivalent technical qualification, preferably in mechanical or electrical fields, or VETA-based technical training.
• Valid forklift driving license.
• Hands-on experience operating a double handler.
