Role Overview
SteerBridge Strategies is looking for an experienced Data Analyst to support sensitive operational work in a secure data environment. This position is centered on detailed analysis, automation, and reporting that help leaders make better decisions.
The right candidate will bring advanced SQL skills, comfort working with large relational datasets, and the ability to turn complex information into clear, actionable recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine large relational data sets to uncover trends, inefficiencies, and performance issues.
- Convert raw information into insights that can guide leadership decisions.
- Spot shortages, degradations, and operational gaps.
- Build production-quality SQL queries using tools such as Amazon Redshift and Oracle SQL Developer.
- Use advanced SQL methods such as CTEs, window functions, complex joins, and aggregations.
- Improve query performance and scalability.
- Investigate and correct discrepancies across multiple data sources.
- Create automated checks for row counts, duplicates, completeness, and data integrity.
- Verify data quality and consistency before reports are published.
- Trace and resolve the underlying causes of data mismatches.
- Support and maintain ETL workflows and data pipelines.
- Develop automated routines for ingestion, transformation, and validation.
- Use scheduling and orchestration tools such as cron, AWS services, Airflow, or similar solutions.
- Ensure workflows execute reliably without manual effort.
- Write scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to streamline data tasks.
- Automate data extraction, file handling, and pipeline verification.
- Embed scripts into broader end-to-end processes.
- Create and maintain automated reports and dashboards.
- Support recurring daily, weekly, and monthly reporting needs.
- Deliver accurate, consistent reports on time.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory, along with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
- A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Data Analytics, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related area is required.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in data analysis or a similar field is needed.
- Prior experience in sensitive or tightly controlled data environments is required.
- Strong command of SQL, with preference for Amazon Redshift and Oracle.
- Experience handling large relational datasets and understanding data structures.
- Solid knowledge of joins, aggregations, and query tuning.
- Ability to diagnose data issues and maintain data integrity.
- Working knowledge of ETL workflows and data pipelines.
- Experience creating recurring reports and dashboards.
- Strong attention to detail and data validation capability.
- Preferred: 3 to 6 years of post-college professional experience.
- Preferred: exposure to predictive analytics or modeling.
- Preferred: skills in Python or R for analytical work.
- Preferred: familiarity with automation and scheduling tools.
- Preferred: experience supporting executive-level decision-making.
