Geophysicist - AI Trainer

About the role

This position is for experienced quantitative professionals who want to contribute to the training of AI systems. You will work with advanced AI models on work involving the review of AI-produced quantitative analysis, the resolution of technical problems, and the sharing of feedback that helps improve how these models handle data, modeling, and scientific reasoning.

The work suits people from quantitative backgrounds such as data science, astrophysics, economics, biostatistics, operations research, and similar fields. If you are comfortable thinking deeply about data and models, your experience can be applied here. Some contributors do this alongside another full-time job, while others use it as their main work.

How the process works

After creating an account, you will complete a short assessment that acts as the selection step. If successful, you will receive a confirmation email and paid assignments will become available on the platform.

Contracting advantages

Responsibilities

• Review AI-generated quantitative outputs for accuracy, including statistical analysis, predictive modeling, scientific reasoning, and data-based conclusions.
• Create and solve quantitative tasks used to train and benchmark AI systems, covering areas such as forecasting, experimental analysis, optimization, and statistical inference.
• Prepare clear technical write-ups and maintain well-structured analytical code.
• Share feedback that helps improve the next generation of AI models focused on quantitative reasoning.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of practical experience in a quantitative role or research setting, such as data science, statistics, economics, finance, physics, biology, epidemiology, operations research, or a related discipline.
• Basic coding ability is required, along with the ability to write and review analytical code from start to finish.
• Hands-on experience with statistical techniques, predictive modeling, and experimental design, including A/B testing, hypothesis testing, regression, classification, and time-series forecasting.
• Strong English fluency at native or bilingual level, supported by excellent writing skills.
• A bachelor’s degree in a quantitative subject such as Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering is preferred; a master’s degree or PhD would be an advantage.
• Additional credentials such as Kaggle competition rankings, AWS/GCP machine learning certifications, or comparable evidence of expertise are beneficial.

Eligibility

Applications are limited to candidates based in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. This is an independent contractor engagement, and payment is processed through PayPal, which will also handle any currency conversion from USD. The company states that it will never ask candidates for money.

Payment and other notes

Compensation is hourly and starts at $50 to $100+ USD per hour, with bonus rates available on certain projects. Payment is made via PayPal.
