About the property
Pullman Bunker Bay is a premium 5-star seaside resort set in the Margaret River region of Western Australia. The property includes 150 elegantly designed bungalow-style villas, a dining venue and bar called Other Side of the Moon, recognised conference and wedding spaces, and a spa focused on relaxation and wellbeing.
Working in this scenic location also means access to sailing experiences, acclaimed local wines, and whale watching along Bunker Bay Beach.
Role purpose
The Handyperson is the go-to person for a wide range of maintenance, repair, and improvement work. The role calls for someone who can identify problems early, act before minor issues grow into bigger ones, and use practical skills and the right tools to keep the property in top condition.
Key duties
- Keep guest rooms, shared areas, and resort facilities maintained to a high standard.
- Work closely with colleagues across the property while also being comfortable handling tasks independently.
- Tackle varied maintenance challenges and find practical solutions when issues arise.
- Carry out routine upkeep and preventative maintenance work as needed.
Skills and experience
- A hands-on, proactive approach with the stamina to work in a physical role and see tasks through safely and neatly.
- Practical exposure to general building maintenance, with basic knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, or electrical work; formal trade qualifications are not required.
- Strong troubleshooting ability and clear communication skills for dealing with managers, guests, and onsite contractors.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
