Role summary

The Helper Baker supports daily bakery operations by completing assigned tasks carefully, efficiently, and on time. The role places strong emphasis on outstanding customer service, food safety, workplace safety, and reliable teamwork. You will help create a positive shopping experience while supporting the bakery team with preparation, stock handling, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key duties

• Follow all food safety rules, standard operating procedures, health and safety expectations, corporate policies, and related programs.
• Work in line with Thrifty Foods department procedures and operational standards.
• Carry out floor maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Keep the work area tidy, safe, and visually appealing at all times.
• Use equipment properly and always work in a safe manner.
• Build product knowledge and stay updated on product changes and seasonal needs.
• Greet customers warmly, maintain eye contact, and offer friendly service.
• Show reliability, care, and punctuality in day-to-day work.
• Improve skills in oven use and bakery product preparation.
• Support the JP Baker/Supervisor by preparing tools, materials, and supplies, and by fetching stock when needed.
• Receive stock and rotate products and ingredients correctly.
• Help maintain a clean and safe work environment according to company standards.
• Take on other related tasks as needed.

Compensation and benefits

The role offers an hourly wage between $17.85 and $21.30.
