Role overview
This opportunity is for a house cleaner with a service company operating across Toronto, Ontario. The role is hands-on and field-based, with assignments that can change from one client location to another. Day-to-day work is centered on keeping homes and related spaces clean, sanitary, and well-presented while delivering courteous service to customers.

Education and experience
No formal credential, certificate, or diploma is needed. Prior experience is not mandatory because training will be provided on the job.
Work location and setting
This is an on-the-road position. Work locations may vary, and the job involves frequent or continuous travel between sites. Assignments may take place in clients' homes, apartment and condominium buildings, urban areas, private residences, cleaning service environments, and other service/cleaning locations. Customer-facing work is part of the role.
Environment
The work environment is non-smoking.
Main duties
- Carry out general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, washing, and polishing floors, hallways, stairs, and other surfaces.
- Remove dust from furniture and clean, polish, or wax furniture as needed.
- Vacuum carpets, rugs, drapes, upholstered items, and floors.
- Change bed linens, make beds, and restock towels, toiletries, and linen cupboards.
- Clean, disinfect, and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances, including bathrooms and elevators.
- Pick up waste, empty bins, and clean work areas.
- Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and interior surfaces.
- Clean showers, changing rooms, and other sanitary spaces.
- Launder clothing and household linens, including washing, ironing, and pressing items.
- Wash dishes and similar items by hand and coordinate in-house laundry services when required.
- Handle customer questions or complaints professionally and provide courteous service.
- Use maps or trip-planning tools to navigate between locations and follow directions carefully.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks and complete other cleaning-related duties as assigned.
- Finish products, including polishing or buffing metal items to a mirror-like shine when needed.
Specialization and experience area
Prior work experience in cleaning is relevant. The role also involves use of a central vacuum system.
Security and travel requirements
The position requires a bondable candidate, a criminal record check, and reference verification. Travel is part of the job, including regular travel, and public transportation is available. Travel costs are not covered by the employer.
Working conditions
This role can be fast-paced and may involve working under pressure, tight deadlines, repetitive duties, heavy lifting, and physically demanding tasks. The work calls for strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and comfort with bending, crouching, kneeling, standing for long periods, and a mix of sitting, standing, and walking.
