About the role
LifeSpire of Virginia is hiring a full-time Housekeeper in Newport News, VA. This role supports a community focused on purposeful living, with an emphasis on faith, wellness, and connection. Schedule
The working hours for this position are 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Core responsibilities
This position is responsible for keeping assigned areas clean and orderly by following established housekeeping procedures. The work includes resident spaces, nursing stations, shared areas used by residents and staff, lounges, break rooms, utility rooms, treatment areas, therapy rooms, workrooms, offices, corridors, elevators, stairways, and building entrances.
The housekeeper is also expected to keep cleaning supplies and equipment stocked, maintain required logs and records accurately and on time, and follow infection-control practices, hazardous-waste handling procedures, and other safety rules and policies.
Minimum qualifications
Applicants should be able to read and write, and understand both spoken and written instructions. The role calls for a strong sense of accountability, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, comfort with multitasking, and a cooperative attitude. Basic computer use is required. In some cases, the job may involve driving a car or golf cart, so a valid driver's license may be needed.
Physical demands
This position involves regular physical activity. Requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying up to 20 pounds, and pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds. Equipment use is frequent.
