Role Summary

This full-time, on-site Human Resources Manager position in Kampala is responsible for managing the complete employee journey. The role covers hiring, onboarding, performance management, and exit processes, while also ensuring HR practices remain aligned with local labor regulations. The position supports leadership with workforce planning, provides guidance on employee relations, and helps build a respectful, inclusive workplace culture.

Key Duties

• Manage recruitment activities across the employee lifecycle, from hiring through onboarding and offboarding.
• Oversee performance management processes and help ensure they are applied consistently.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce HR policies and procedures in line with applicable labor laws.
• Advise managers and leaders on employee relations issues and workplace concerns.
• Keep HR records accurate and up to date, including documentation and employee data.
• Coordinate payroll inputs and benefits administration with the finance team.
• Support training and development planning and execution.
• Prepare HR reports, track key metrics, and carry out basic HR analytics.
• Monitor attendance and leave records.
• Serve as a first point of contact for HR questions from employees and managers.
• Assist leadership with workforce planning and related people operations decisions.

Required Qualifications

• Solid working knowledge of HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
• Good understanding of HR policy development, labor law compliance, and HR documentation/reporting.
• Experience using HR information systems or HR modules within ERP platforms.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution abilities, with the confidence to work across all levels of the organization.
• Excellent planning, organization, prioritization, and attention-to-detail skills, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related discipline.
• Prior experience in an HR generalist or HR manager position, ideally in retail, cosmetics, or another fast-moving consumer-focused environment.

• Willingness to work on-site in Kampala and collaborate closely with local and regional leaders.
