Role overview
IDN-Canada is seeking an entry-level Inside Sales Representative for its Scarborough branch. The company operates as a security and door hardware distributor serving security professionals across Canada, with a broad branch network that supports national reach alongside local stock availability and individualized customer service.
This position is based in Scarborough, Ontario and reports to the Branch Manager. It is a full-time office-and-branch role that combines customer service, sales support, warehouse tasks, and operational assistance. The successful candidate will build product knowledge, strengthen internal process understanding, and gradually assume more sales responsibility while helping the branch grow.
Key responsibilities
The role involves helping customers in person, over the phone, and through digital channels while maintaining a high standard of service. It also includes building solid relationships with customers and vendors, supporting sales growth in the assigned territory, and helping retain and expand the existing customer base.
Day-to-day duties include contributing to branch administration and operations, collaborating closely with branch staff, improving familiarity with products and systems, and identifying new accounts and business opportunities. Warehouse support may also be required, including picking orders, restocking items, and keeping inventory organized. The employee is expected to follow company policies, procedures, and operating standards at all times.
Requirements and qualifications
Applicants should bring 1 to 2 years of experience in customer service and/or sales, although this is stated as an asset rather than a strict requirement. Strong communication skills are needed, including oral, written, and presentation ability. Comfort with Microsoft Office and general computer systems is also important.
The company is looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, adaptable to shifting priorities, and able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. A positive attitude, self-motivation, and a desire for professional growth are also emphasized.
Additional conditions
Candidates must be Canadian residents, legally authorized to work in Canada, and bondable with no criminal record because of the nature of the business and the products handled.
Schedule
This is a full-time position with typical working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Compensation and benefits
The employer states that it offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Additional incentives include monthly and yearly bonus opportunities, commission potential, and an RSP program.
Equal opportunity statement
IDN-Canada states that it provides equal employment opportunities and considers qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
Application notes
Applicants are asked to provide their personal details and upload a resume for consideration. The application form requests name, address, city, country, region or province, zip code, telephone number, email address, the position being applied for, resume attachment, and how the applicant heard about the opportunity.
