Role overview
As Junior Category Manager for the DACH region, you will convert shopper and market data into practical insights that support growth for Tony’s and the chocolate category in Germany and Austria. You will collaborate with Key Account Managers, the field sales team, and local brand, trade, and product teams, as well as international cross-functional colleagues. The role is highly hands-on and will help strengthen the company’s category management setup while improving how insights are used across the business.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze shopper and market information and translate it into clear recommendations that support growth in DACH.
- Take ownership of monthly reporting, with a focus on accuracy, clear storytelling, and useful action points.
- Support internal teams with insights for pricing, promotions, and assortment decisions.
- Prepare structured presentations and narratives for internal stakeholders and, over time, retail partners.
- Work closely with DACH and global teams and bring in relevant market trends and external viewpoints.
- Help manage data tools, contracts, and budgets, while improving the way insights are applied in daily work.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in FMCG or with a leading market research organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data into engaging, actionable insights.
- Experience with category and market data tools such as Nielsen, Circana/IRI, or GfK, plus confidence using Excel and presentation software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adjust messaging for different audiences.
- A self-driven approach and comfort working independently in a changing environment.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to build relationships across teams and markets.
- Fluency in English and German.
- Interest in the FMCG sector.
- Willingness to work from the Hamburg office around 3 days per week on average, with flexibility for more in-office time if desired.
