About the Team

The Payment Experience Team works on delivering a smooth, consistent payment journey across multiple Grab applications. The team uses a range of programming languages and builds and maintains several apps to ensure users have a reliable payment experience.

Role Overview

Grab is hiring an experienced Lead Software Engineer to contribute to the development of advanced financial products. This is an individual contributor position based in Singapore, reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager. The role requires strong technical ownership, collaboration, and the ability to balance hands-on coding with leadership responsibilities.

What You Will Do

• Work closely with product, design, and engineering partners to define, build, and release new features.
• Set engineering standards and promote best practices across the team.
• Improve system performance and resolve high-priority technical problems.
• Keep track of emerging tools, frameworks, and industry developments.
• Take part in the complete software delivery cycle, from idea generation through deployment.
• Help shape technical choices and longer-term engineering direction for mobile-related initiatives.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar discipline.
• At least 5 years of backend engineering experience.
• At least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
• Strong expertise in backend development using Go (Golang).
• Practical experience with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, along with Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deliver end-to-end outcomes across teams.
• Comfort with both coding and leading, including mentoring teammates and driving execution plans.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to perform well in a fast-moving environment while consistently producing high-quality results.

Preferred Experience

• Background in payments.
• Experience working with CI/CD workflows.
• Knowledge of Agile practices.
• Familiarity with AI tools such as Cursor.
