Role overview
This position calls for an experienced Manufacturing Manager to take charge of production operations at the Lisarow site. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring manufacturing runs safely, efficiently, and within budget while strengthening capability, improving performance, and supporting smooth plant operations on a 24x5 schedule.
Key responsibilities
- Direct and support Production Shift Managers, Team Leaders, Supervisors, and production and sanitation employees.
- Own overall accountability for output, workforce, and resources across the manufacturing lines.
- Run day-to-day operations so production targets are achieved and WHS and quality requirements are met.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Planning, and Logistics to keep production flowing without disruption.
- Streamline processes by focusing on root-cause fixes rather than relying on equipment purchases alone.
- Use practical problem-solving methods to implement effective and sustainable improvements.
- Manage labour allocation, rosters, time and attendance, and training to maintain continuity and strong performance.
- Promote a workplace culture built on teamwork, accountability, and ongoing improvement.
- Work with production and maintenance teams to improve reliability and overall operational performance in a sustainable way.
- Lead in a manner that supports safety, positivity, and high performance across the site.
- Build productive relationships that support a constructive industrial relations environment.
- Partner with supply chain leadership to contribute to and deliver the site’s long-term strategy.
Ideal candidate
You should bring substantial experience in manufacturing leadership, preferably in food production or FMCG. The role suits someone who is practical, confident, and comfortable working hands-on in a busy operational setting. Strong people leadership, workforce planning, and performance management skills are important, along with the ability to interpret data and reports to support sound decisions. You will also need to stay calm under pressure, solve problems in a cost-effective way, and delegate effectively while holding others accountable.
Additional information
The plant operates on a 24x5 schedule. Relocation support is available for the right candidate.
