About the Role
Scholars Hall is hiring a full-time Math Mentor in Singapore to provide premium in-home tutoring and mentoring. This role goes beyond improving marks: it is about building confidence, curiosity, and a stronger learner identity in students. The team supports learners across Primary to Upper Secondary levels, with occasional work for JC and IB students.
You will work closely with students in their homes, creating lessons that match how each learner thinks, processes, and progresses. In return, you will be backed by a structured operations and curriculum team that supports matching, resources, and training, so you can focus on teaching and mentoring well.
What the Role Involves
- Conduct tailored one-to-one Mathematics mentoring sessions for students at different levels and in different curricula.
- Build lesson plans and teaching approaches that reflect each student’s pace, strengths, personality, and learning needs.
- Monitor student progress and adjust your methods as needed to support steady improvement.
- Keep parents informed with clear, respectful, and thoughtful communication about their child’s development.
- Take part in team training and professional development sessions focused on curriculum and mentoring.
- Contribute to a classroom-like learning atmosphere where students feel safe, supported, and motivated to learn.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience teaching or tutoring one-to-one and understands how to build trust and keep a student engaged. You should have strong mathematical ability, be comfortable travelling across Singapore for home sessions, and bring a warm, approachable, and empathetic style to your work. The company also expects occasional participation in events and social media representation.
Additional Requirements and Preferences
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong command of Mathematics, including algebra, calculus, statistics, and problem-solving.
- Experience with IB, JC, O-Level, IGCSE, or Singapore-local curricula is a plus.
- Proven ability to help students improve academically, build confidence, or both.
- Comfort working with a wide age range, from Primary to pre-university level.
- A genuine motivation to influence and support the next generation of learners.
- Willingness to travel to students’ homes across Singapore; travel allowance is provided.
Compensation and Benefits
- Total monthly pay is SGD 5,500 to SGD 6,500, combining base salary and revenue share, with earnings scaling as your student roster grows.
- Working hours are flexible and organised around sessions and preparation time rather than a fixed 9-to-5 schedule.
- Medical insurance is included.
- Annual leave is above average.
- Office space is available for planning, collaboration, and team lunches.
- Fully subsidised accredited training is provided.
- The operations team manages student allocation, so there is no need to source clients yourself.
- There is a long-term growth path toward becoming a recognised, high-value Math mentor in Singapore.
- The company offers a close-knit, energetic team culture.
How to Stand Out
The employer is especially interested in understanding what motivates you as an educator and values your purpose more than a traditional CV-focused application.
